Youth politcs or Dynasty Politics?

‘Youth’, a chanted mantra rite from President Obama to Petty shop owner. The greatest power of 21st century, creativity and ground breaking innovativeness lies in the hands of youth. Let me come to the age limit, what do you say? I believe youth is a person who is within the age 18-35. Below 18 she/he is regarded as a teen and above 35, she/he is a mature adult.

People in our country with Brobdingnagian hope and with few knowledge say, “Man, youth have at last stepped into politics; it is going to be a flourishing period for India!” Come on people were has youth entered politics????? Rahul Gandhi? He is considered ‘the symbol youth’ but he 39 now. Is he a youth? In feudal system, a king before his death gives his crown to his son and says “You take care of my empire” and similarly Deora,Scindia,Pilot, Maran, sangma and Abdullah gave their offices to their sons in the democratic government and said "You take care of my constituency and portfolio". What do you call this, Youth politics or dynasty politics or democracy at its peak? We sit in our couch and we say “at last we got some young blood in the cabinet” With all due respect, I want to say that the average age of union ministers excluding the Minster of state and independent Ministers is 67. It is the time to think. Youth politics means giving chance to new juvenility and new guy with fresh idea, not the son of an old politician.

The question here to be asked is, when are we going to have a real democracy and when are we going to throw these gimmicks out of parliament. The real youth revolution began in software industry, but this should also spread to the politics. We will never get a revolution by staying in our houses, revolution is brought in streets. Castro once said, "Revolution is not a bed of roses but a struggle between the future and past" I believe, everyone agrees to this. So, it is our time to react. Day will come when we will all unite!

As usual, with hope,

Alagiri.
