There is one thing which always gives me a goose bump; Yeah, it is “Vande Mataram!” It is her 62nd birthday. At first I would like say “Happy birthday my dear mother India”. Secondly, “I love you India!” Third,”It would be a glory to die for you or for your sons and daughters”.
Now let us look through the struggle of our forefathers and the struggle that we are facing rite now.
Non cooperation movement:
It was a major armor for our freedom struggle; it became a great concern for English. Virtually it made the britishers pee in their pants. But now our government servants are using this as their armor for their salary hike and for the incentives. You provide all these things but still they turn their back by corrupting the poor and needy.
Salt Satyagraha:
Toughest struggle, which later became the chanting mantra for the South Africans and the rest of the world. “Kill me! If it is for my country, it is my pleasure”, this is Satyagraha in nut shell. But now when you perform a Satyagraha for your rights, you would be killed or thrown into jail. For example, when a group of tea estate labors protested for the salary hike, they were thrown into the river (Thamirabarani massacre) by the police.
Jalianwala bagh massacre:
Jalianwala bagh took away 1526 life, but for a noble cause ‘freedom’. 3,674 lost their life for no reason between 2004 and 2006, it because of the terrorism. No one questions the terrorist or the government.
During the freedom struggle, our people lost only their freedom, but now we are losing our human rights and security, which is far worse than that. To fight against all these betting odds we need more strength and courage then what our grandfathers had. “In the truest sense, freedom cannot be bestowed; it must be achieved”, I always loved this quote because it gives you the bravery to fight the odds.
I dedicate this post to Khudiram Bose who gave his life at the age of 19 (Just my age) , because of his unfearing and brave act. Without all these brave men we wouldn’t have got this freedom and it is our duty to give the security and rights to our children.
Through this post I’ll also like to wish a very happy independence day. As is our duty to protect our mother so is our duty to protect our country.
